LA, Sept 22: Academy Award-nominated actress Diane Lane will star in the psychological thriller "Need," which is slated to begin production early next year.
She will play a successful New York therapist who discovers that one of her patients -- a suicidal woman named Beth -- is having an affair with her husband. No director is on board.
The project, loosely based on Lawrence David's 1996 novel of the same name, is set up at Sony-based Escape Artists.
Lane was nominated for a best actress Oscar this year for her role in "Unfaithful." She is garnering positive reviews for Disney's "Under the Tuscan Sun," which opens next weekend.
