Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Saturday said that recent international developments had reinforced the arguments for global partnership between India and Japan in the 21st century.
"We should endeavour to qualitatively transform our bilateral political relationship, with a strong underpinning of trade and economic linkages, cultural and educational exchanges and synergies in science and technology," Vajpayee said at a banquet hosted by the Governor of Osaka prefecture, Mayor of Osaka city and Chairman of Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of Kansai Economic Federation.
He, however, did not specify any particular event. It was entirely appropriate that he should start his visit to Japan from Osaka, he said. Kansai region is indisputably the economic power house of Japan. Bureau Report
