Lucknow, Sept 13: The Uttar Pradesh government today asked the senior IAS officer probing into the illegal allotments of prime land in Noida and Greater Noida to also investigate large-scale appointments and promotions carried out by the previous government. The one-man inquiry commission of t. George Joseph will also inquire into the decisions taken by the previous government regarding appointment, promotions, demotions and service terminations in Noida and Greater Noida, an official release said here. Barely a week after taking over the reins of power, the Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav had ordered an inquiry into the alleged illegal allotment of prime land , construction of Taj Express Highway and Amity School Highway which were all sanctioned by the previous Mayawati government. No time frame has been set for the inquiry committee to submit its report.

The inquiry will put all the allotments and works carried out by the Mayawati government in Noida and Greater Noida under the scanner.
When in opposition, the Samajwadi Party had levelled serious allegations against Chief Minister Mayawati about amassing huge wealth by making illegal allotments in Noida and Greater Noida.
