The mystery behind the killing of Samajwadi Party Member of Parliament Phoolan Devi on Monday with the Delhi Police recovering two country-made revolvers from her residence in the capital.
The two revolvers were recovered by the crime branch of Delhi Police from the backyard of 44, Ashoka Road, the official residence of the slain Samajwadi Party leader. With this a total of four revolvers and nine bullets have been recovered in the case so far. Two revolvers, including a foreign-made, were recovered from the car (cim907) of Sher Singh Rana alias Pankaj, the prime suspect in the killing, a few hours after the incident on July 25.
The information about the presence of the two revolvers was given to police by Phoolan's husband Umed Singh, who was interrogated by the Delhi Police for the second day on Monday.
Umed Singh also met uinon home minister L K Advani and Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the Lok Sabha on Monday morning to demand security for himself. He said that he feared threat to his life following the killing of his wife. Bureau Report
