Kargil, Aug 09: The Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council for Kargil formally came into existence today with the newly-elected members to the 26-strong house taking oath at a function here. Principal district and session Judge A K Shan administered the oath to 23 members of the council which was elected on July 10.

Members of the state legislature Mohammad Abbas and Nasrullah and prominent citizens, religious leaders and senior officials of the district administration attended the function.
