Tension at TNCC headquarters as posters against Vasan appear
Chennai, June 26: Tension gripped the Sathyamurthy Bhavan, the TNCC headquarters here, with the appearance of posters, demanding the removal of AICC secretary G K Vasan from the party for his boycott of the Kamaraj centenary celebrations committee meeting here on Tuesday, convened by the AICC general secretary Kamalnath.
Chennai, June 26: Tension gripped the Sathyamurthy Bhavan, the TNCC headquarters here, with the appearance of posters, demanding the removal of AICC secretary G K Vasan from the party for his boycott of the Kamaraj centenary celebrations committee meeting here on Tuesday, convened by the AICC general secretary Kamalnath.
While the supporters of Vasan wanted action to be taken against those responsible for pasting the posters, supporters of the TNCC working president E V K S Elangovan shouted them down.
The TNCC spokesman Peter Alphonse, who had defected to Elangovan camp from the Vasan camp, who came to pacify both the factions was allegedly manhandled by the members of both the groups.
Elangovan later told reporters that action would be taken against those, who pasted the posters.
Security has been tightened at Sathyamurthy Bhavan, as tension prevailed at the building. Additional police forces had been posted there, police said.
