Ramallah, June 09: Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmud
Abbas said today he was determined to resume talks with
Palestinian radical groups aimed at securing a ceasefire in
the armed uprising against Israel.
"We have said in Parliament that we want to end the
militarised Intifada," or uprising, he told a press conference
in the west bank town of Ramallah.
"We repeat it today and underline our determination to
pursue the dialogue with the movements which criticised us on
this issue. But we are forcing no-one" to participate in the
talks, Abbas said.
The Prime Minister also renewed his condemnation of Saturday's attacks by Palestinian militants that killed five Israeli soldiers.
