Katiyar, others sit on `indefinite dharna`
Kushinagar, Oct 06: Uttar Pradesh BJP president Vinay Katiyar today sat on an indefinite `dharna` at Devraj Pipra village in the district demanding compensation of Rs five lakh each for the next of kin of those killed in police firing in the village on Saturday night and arrest of the erring cops.

State BJP general secretary Ramapati Ram Tripathi and
several other senior party leaders also joined Katiyar in the
sit-in.
Earlier, addressing a gathering, Tandon said the police firing was "unprovoked" and demanded immediate arrest of the guilty cops.
He said all those killed in the firing belonged to the poor and weaker sections of the society and the amount of compensation for them should not be less than Rs five lakh.
