New Delhi, Mar 31: The Centre today filed an appeal against an order of the Andhra Pradesh High Court staying Section Seven (III) of the cable network rules prohibiting advertisements by the political parties through the electronic media. The petition which was filed late in the evening is likely to be mentioned tomorrow by Attorney General Soli J Sorabjee for an urgent hearing in view of the importance of the issue. The filing of the appeal appeared to have been prompted by a surrogate advertisement in electronic media describing Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee as a British informer during Quit India Movement. Details of the appeal were not made available to the media. Bureau Report
