Jaipur, Nov 24: Playing the Hindutva and upper caste cards, BJP today promised in its election manifesto for Rajasthan enactment of a law against forcible religious conversions and reservation for the economically backward among the forward castes. "Although the problem of religious conversions is not (not) as rampant as in neighbouring Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, but we want to ensure that gullible people are not (not) forced into religious conversion in the desert state," said BJP's chief ministrial candidate Vasundhara Raje while releasing the manifesto for December one assembly polls.
Responding to the demand for reservation in government jobs for Brahmins and Rajputs, the manifesto promised to provide reservation for economically backward people of upper castes.
However, the present reservation for SC, ST and OBCs would not (not) be disturbed, the manifesto added.
