The cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Ashok
Gehlot also decided to declare the Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK)
an autonomous body following demand by artists, the spokesman
said.
The cabinet recommended setting up of a ministerial committee to look into the privatisation of university and prepare a bill to be introduced in the assembly.
To reduce the financial burden on the existing state run universities, the state would allow the universities to generate its resources and funds if by any means.
The autonomy to JKK would give it an international status as artists would get more and more encouragement and avenues without red tapeism, the cabinet resolved.
The cabinet also approved the renaming of Bandikui government colleged after late Rajesh Pilot, a Congress leader and Bandikui senior secondary school after late B N Joshi, a freedom fighter.
