Islamabad, Nov 26: Guns fell silent across the Line of Control and Siachen at the stroke of midnight as India and Pakistan armed forces began observing ceasefire agreed by their respective governments, Pakistan Army said. Pakistan`s defence spokesman, Maj Gen Shoukat Sultan told media persons here that that there was exchange of firing in some sectors between both the armies till afternoon yesterday on the LoC but "guns finally fell silent by the midnight last night. "The ceasefire is holding on the entire LoC, Siachen sector and the rest from midnight last night. There was no violations from either side. Hope it stays like that to set the stage for improvement of relations between the two countries," he said. Bureau Report
