Vande Bharat Sleeper Routes: Indian Railways' BIG Hint, Train To Run On..... Ashwini Vaishnaw Says....

The Indian Railways has dropped a big hint about the routes on which the Vande Bharat Sleeper services are likely to be introduced first. While there have been talks of the train's introduction on the Delhi to Srinagar route, Indian Railways in a release said, "Rail commuters can hope for world-class travel experience in long-distance travel like Kashmir to Kanyakumari, Delhi to Mumbai, Howrah to Chennai and many other routes also." 

The Indian Railways said that the Vande Bharat Sleeper will benefit passengers as travel time will come down considerably. "The current average speed of Mumbai-Delhi long-distance travel is 90 km/hr with the maximum permissible speed of 140 km/h for Tejas Rajdhani Express, which is the fastest among all Rajdhani train services in India," said the Railways. On the other hand, the Vande Bharat Sleeper clocked at 180kmph speed during trials and can run at 160kmph given suitable tracks, said Ashwini Vaishnaw.

The Vande Bharat sleeper train has achieved a peak speed of 180 km per hour in its multiple trials in the last three days. The trails will continue till this month's end before this world-class travel for long-distance travel is made available to rail commuters across the nation. The train is likely to be launched for the public in February or March.

Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that the Vande Bharat Sleeper Express features 16 coaches, including 11 AC three-tier, four AC two-tier and one AC first-class, offering a total of 823 passenger berths.

The Vande Bharat Sleeper has many modern passenger amenities including advanced lighting, USB charging and a dedicated dog box to ensure a comfortable journey. The train also has ample luggage space in each Driving Trailer Coach (DTC). Fresh meals are available through large, medium, and small pantries, with fixed and foldable snack tables for a comfortable dining experience.

The Vande Bharat Sleeper has aerodynamic cab that can withstand impacts up to 36 km/h, with crash buffers and anti-climbers integrated for enhanced passenger safety. The train's HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) system ensures uniform air conditioning throughout, providing consistent comfort for all passengers.

The Vande Bharat Sleeper is equipped with a Black Box that captures real-time data, enhancing safety through continuous performance analysis. Vigilance Control Device requiring driver operation every minute, Fire Detection System and HL3 safety compliance with a 15-minute response time ensure unparalleled safety.

The Vande Bharat Sleeper Express train offers 51 ergonomically designed toilets, with options for Euro, Oriental, and combination styles. First-class passengers enjoy shower facilities. Bio-digester tanks with periodic bacteria changes every 6 months and 30-litre garbage compactors in each coach maintain high hygiene standards.

Vande Bharat trains are now available on many Shatabdi train routes. Vande Bharat Express is India’s fastest train and is capable of reaching speeds up to 180 km/h.
