Chandigarh, Apr 22: Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh held a closed door meeting with Andhra Pradesh Governor Surjit Singh Barnala at his residence here today. The meeting between Singh and Barnala lasted for about 15 minutes, the Chief Minister told describing it as a courtesy call.
The meeting assumes significance in the wake of media reports about the possibility of truce between Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Parkash Singh Badal and his arch rival Gurcharan Singh Tohra.
Akali Dal sources claim that Union minister Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, at the behest of central BJP leadership, has been playing a significant role for a possible unity among Badal and Tohra.
