Itanagar, Sept 16: Arunachal Pradesh rural works department minister T L Rajkumar today resigned from the ministry and his resignation letter was accepted by the state's chief minister Mukut Mithi.


Earlier in the day, Rajkumar in a release had cited personal reasons for his resignation, saying that he was under tremendous stress "due to various pressing problems" in the last couple of months which was preventing him from discharging his duties effectively. Rajkumar hailed from NSCN-dominated Tirap district in Arunachal Pradesh.

The Chief Minister told a press conference where he announced his acceptance of the minister's resignation letter, that an NSCN (I-M) activist was arrested by police on August 21 in Itanagar and important documents revealing a nexus between the NSCN(I-M), some politicians and some leaders of the all Arunachal Pradesh Students Union were recovered.
