Melbourne, Feb 24: Finland's title contender Kimi Raikkonen clocked the fastest lap yet at Valencia, recording a time of one minute, 08.995 seconds at the private test on February 19, taking a tenth of a second off the record set by Williams driver Juan Pablo Montoya.
Raikkonen challenged Ferrari's Michael Schumacher for the title last year, losing out by two points after a showdown at the final race in Japan as the German won his record sixth championship.
The 24-year-old Finn could still become the sport's youngest champion this year, with Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone already tipping him for the title.
