Patna, Feb 14: President Dr A P J Abdul Kalam arrived here today on a day's whirlwind visit to attend several programmes in the state. Dr Kalam landed at the Jaiprakash Narayan International Airport here on an Indian Air Force plane at 1200 hrs. He was accorded a warm welcome after his arrival from Ranchi by Bihar governor M Rama Jois, Chief Minister Rabri Devi and her cabinet colleagues, City Mayor K M Yadav, state legislative council chairman Jabir Hussain and senior Army and civil officers among others. After a brief stop at the airport itself, Dr Kalam flew by an Air Force chopper for Rajendra Agriculture University, Pusa, in Samastipur along with Mr Jois where he would address a convocation.

The President is scheduled to attend a function organised by Bal Yoga Mitra Mandal at Munger where a congregation of 25,000 children would greet the country's first citizen.
