Rajkot, Oct 30: In a fresh grist to disinvestment controversy, defence minister and Samata Party leader George Fernandes today said none of the profit-making public sector undertakings and units linked to National Security should be privatised and cautioned against businessmen with "black money" venturing into politics. "None of the public sector units that are profit- generating should be sold, especially those with links to the country's national security and defence equipment manufacturing units," Fernandes told the national convention of Samata Party here.
Later, answering a question from reporters, he said he had consistently held the view that there should be a "mid-course review" of achivements, agenda and action plan of the NDA government at the Centre.
"The Samata Party and I personally have told the Centre that a mid-term review to check if everything decided by the NDA at the time of coming to power is going as per plan," Fernandes said.
