Ghaziabad, June 15: The Amrit Banaspati Group said on Sunday it was in talks with leading European dairy majors for forging a joint venture to manufacture and sell high-quality milk and milk-based products. Amrit Foods, a division within the group, has already conducted several rounds of negotiations with international dairy majors for forging a technical alliance for products including UHT (Ultra heat treatment) cream, ready-to-eat desserts, puddings and shakes, a senior company official said here.
"We have already developed products like UHT cream, puddings and ready-to-eat desserts and we are exploring the JV route for these and other milk-based products. Amrit is talking to some European dairy majors," Joint Managing Director of Amrit Banaspati Company Ashwini K Bajaj said here.

With flagship UHT milk brand `Gagan', Amrit Foods has already reached up to Rs 20-crore turnover, he said adding the company was charting out its growth path by adopting a two-pronged strategy.
"We are looking at growth both by expanding sales and reach of Gagan UHT milk to beyond the National Capital Region. Also, we are in talks with several companies for forging co-packing agreements wherein we supply them with UHT milk and milk based products," Bajaj added.
