Pakistan fails to respond to offer of cleaning up oil spill
Gurgaon (Haryana), Oct 31: Pakistan has not responded to Indian Energy Research Organisation Teri`s offer for cleaning up an oil spill off-coast near the Karachi port recently, Teri Director General R K Pachauri said here today.

"We at Teri offered to clean up the oil spill on the Karachi coast that took place about two months ago, free of cost, but there has been no response from the Pakistan government", he told reporters on the sidelines of a function to welcome Prince Charles at the institute here.
Pachauri also drew Prince Charles's attention to the offer made by Teri to Pakistan. "They (the authorities) must have got someone else to do the cleaning up work", Pachauri said.
He said the Teri Energy Resources Institute had the technology to undertake removal of oil spills. Bureau Report
