Ranchi, June 01: Heat wave swept through many parts of Jharkhand today with Jamshedpur recording the maximum temperature of 44.1 degree celsius during the day.
The maximum temperature registered at Bokaro was 43 degree celsius while the state capital experienced the season's highest temperature of 41.5 degree celsius, Meteorological Office sources said.

For the fifth consecutive day, mercury hovered over 40 degrees celsius in the state capital and the weather remained dry because of the humidity factor, they said.

While the maximum humidity recorded yesterday in Ranchi was 19 per cent, the minimum was 10 per cent.

Most of the city roads looked deserted during the day as the people preferred to remain indoors due to the intense heat wave condition from which there would be no early respite at least for a few more days, the sources added. Bureau Report
