Sydney, June 03: Experts from India, China, the United States and a host of other countries will converge in the Australian city of Darwin today for the first ever ASEAN regional forum on managing the aftermath of a terrorist attack. The forum, co-hosted by Australia and Singapore, hopes to lay a basis for a common understanding of the complex issues involved in managing the consequences of a major terrorist attack in the region and explore the scope for further regional co-operation in the area. Besides India, the two-day meeting will bring together experts from Australia, Brunei, Cambodia, Canada, China, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Singapore, Russia, Thailand, the United States and Vietnam. The United Nations, Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre, Australian law enforcement and emergency management agencies and local and federal government departments will also be represented.
