Bahrain, Apr 03: Kimi Raikkonen will be relegated 10 places on the starting grid for Sunday's Bahrain Grand Prix after having to change his McLaren's engine. Raikkonen was sidelined eight minutes into Friday's second practice session when his engine failed after a fire caused by a fuel leak in the air tray. Drivers are only allowed one engine per race and any change brings with it a 10-place penalty.
The 23-year-old Finn, the first driver to suffer an actual penalty under the new regulations, has yet to finish a race this season after two engine failures.

He said: "I'm obviously disappointed to lose almost all of the second practice session due to an engine failure. All of a sudden I just lost all power.
The 33-year-old Scot careered into a desert sandtrap at around 140mph after his left tyre ripped off, and he had to push his stricken car in 50C heat until marshals belatedly arrived to help. Coulthard eventually recovered to finish 11th fastest after the second session, but he admits his team face an uphill struggle.
He said: "We are at the bottom of the hill in terms of our competitiveness with our rivals and we are trying to climb our way back up.
