Srinagar, Jan 18: Two persons, including a special police officer, were injured in two separate militancy-related incidents in Kashmir Valley, official sources said today. Militants shot at and seriously injured SPO Ranil Singh at Haft Chinar late last night as he was returning to his home from duty in Budgam district in Central Kashmir, they said.

The SPO was immediately rushed to SMHS Hospital where his condition is stated to be critical, they said.

A civilian was slightly injured in a grenade attack on a BSF bunker by militants at Soura in downtown city last evening, the sources said. Meanwhile, shops in Maisuma locality of the city closed down in protest against arrest of couple of youths during a crackdown by security forces, they added.
