Diarrhoea outbreak claims 57 lives in Arunachal
Itanagar, Oct 29: Fifty-seven people have died in an outbreak of diarrhoea in Siyum circle of Upper Subansiri district in Arunachal Pradesh over the last two months, Rural Development Minister Tanga Byaling said today.

Quoting the circle officer of Siyum and district medical
officer, who had visited the area, the Minister said in a
statement that the disease had taken an epidemic form.
A medical team consisting of para medical staff led by senior medical officer Dr T Gongo has been stationed in the area to treat the patients and take preventive measures.
Meanwhile, the Director of Health Services has been requested to send a medical team with adequate medicines to tackle the situation.
The medicines were dispatched to Siyum today.
