New Delhi: Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor, who will soon be seen in Neerja Bhanot's biopic 'Neerja,' recently revealed that she was afraid of what will people think about her until she took up this project.

During a song launch from her upcoming flick, when the 30-year-old actress was asked what she fears, she said, "I was a very shy person, I am not good at public speaking and I have got stage freight."


The 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' star added, "I gave a stage performance eight years ago and I didn't perform on stage after that till I did Stardust and that's only because I did Neerja."


Sonam further said that she realised that going up on the stage and facing the people is a small thing.


She added, "Only because I did Neerja I realised, what have I done in my life that I cannot do this. This girl ( Neerja Bhanot) faced fear she saved lives, she was fearful for her life and she still did it. What am I fearful for ki log kya kahege (What will people think about me)."


Claiming that most of the people today have same fear, the actress said that she has started a campaign named 'Fear vs Neerja' and 90 per cent of people who have been tagging her are fraid to be themselves, afraid of log kya kahenge.


Direct by Ram Madhvani, the flick will hit the theatres on February 19.
