Time for a female James Bond, says Lily Cole

London: Actress Lily Cole thinks it's time a female James Bond film comes out, and said she would love to see Cate Blanchett take on the spy's role.
If given a chance, the 28-year-old, who is also a model and entrepreneur, would herself much rather play 007 than a Bond girl. She is not a fan of how "stereotypical" and uninteresting the character - who was most recently played by French actress Lea Seydoux in 2015 film "Spectre", is, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
Asked if she'd like to play a Bond girl, Cole told BANG Showbiz: "I would rather be Bond. I think the Bond girl character would be a fun one to cross off your bucket list. But they are not the most interesting characters historically, whereas, Bond could be a bit more fun.
"I also don't like male and female stereotype.
"I think it is about time we had a female Bond put it that way."
Which female star does she think would fit the female James Bond role perfectly?
She said: "There are so many strong female actresses. Cate Blanchett comes to mind again. I think she would be pretty good."
