Delhi Police directs authorities to strictly adhere to rules
New Delhi, June 14: Taking serious note of the incident in which a young boy drowned in the Punjabi Bagh Club, Delhi Police today directed the authorities managing swimming pools in the city to strictly adhere to the rules and regulations on the basis of which licence were granted.

According to the norms, every swimming pool has to provide necessary life saving appliances to guard against drowning and also fire fighting appliances on the premises,
police said.
Along with this, only 40 persons (beginners) should be allowed in the shallow and five persons in each lane of 2.5 meters width in a full size pool and 20 and three persons respectively in smaller pools, they added.
