People willing to accept Sonia as PM: Scindia
Indore, July 21: Congress MP Jyotiraditya Scindia today said people of the country are willing to accept her as the prime minister.
Indore, July 21: Congress MP Jyotiraditya Scindia today said people of the country are willing to accept her as the prime minister.
"The fact that congress under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi has assumed power from three to seventeen states in the country, is a clear indication that people of the country are willing to accept her as the prime minister," he told reporters.
He was reacting to BJP's remark that if Sonia Gandhi became the prime minister then it would be "a security threat" for the nation.
On the issue of various opposition parties including the NCP not ready to accept her as their leader, he said, "In democracy, it is the people who decide about such issues and the rise of Congress under her leadership is an example of her acceptance by the people".
Criticising the Centre's economic policies, he said, "During the NDA rule, unemployment has increased and there is a decline in the industrial, agricultural and service sector growth."
He said power and roads will not be the issue during the coming assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh and hoped that the development and empowerment of people carried out at the grassroot level would help Congress come back to power in the state for the third time.
