Website plays up Aamir Khan intolerance row; gives readers chance to slap or kiss him
A website reportedly designed by two students from the Miami Ad School initially allowed its visitors to `slap` Aamir Khan virtually.
Mumbai: Looks like the internet world doesn’t want to be left behind when it comes to Bollywood actor Aamir Khan’s intolerance row. First a website was launched allowing readers to slap Aamir – but with a rider; they disclaimed any right wing views and said their take was catering to humour.
Guessing that the worldwide web was not particularly tickled, the SlapAamir.com site is now showing a new avatar – Kiss Aamir.
The website reportedly designed by two students from the Miami Ad School initially allowed its visitors to 'slap' Aamir Khan virtually. Interestingly, now when a person visits the website in question, it automatically gets redirected to kissaamir.com.
Earlier, the slapaamir website had images of Aamir Khan and an animated hand that moved while moving the curser. Every time, the actor got “slapped”, his expression changed.
The previous disclaimer read: “Slapaamir.com is for humour and creative purposes only and does not represent any political views of the people involved. Please be tolerant of our humour.”
And now it reads:“kissaamir.com is for love and fun purposes only and represents kindness and kisses only. Please spread the tolerance of our love only.”
The Bollywood superstar had made headlines after he spoke about a conversation he had with his wife where she suggested that they should move out of India owing the alleged growing intolerance in the country, at an event held last week.
Aamir’s remarks drew mixed response but eventually criticism overpowered support. The actor eventually released a statement to clarify his remarks.
