Mumbai: Melody queen Lata Mangeshkar, who has great respect for Amitabh Bachchan, was so moved by the megastar reciting a few lines on his TV show “Kaun Banega Crorepati that she ended up in tears.

The legendary singer started off by appreciating the game show’s final episode, which also featured “Kill Dil’ stars Govinda, Parineeti Chopra, Ranveer Singh and Ali Zafar. 


Then she further tweeted on Sunday night: “Karyakram ke samarop me Amit ji ne do panktiyaa'n kahi wo thi mohobbat karnewale kam na honge, teri mehfil mein lekin hum na honge. Amit ji ko ye panktiyaan kehete hue sunke meri aankhein bhar aayi (On hearing Amitji reciting these lines, my eyes filled with tears).


“@SrBachchan Amit ji Mere dil me aap ke liye khas jagah hai (Amitji there is a special place for you in my heart). Main aap ki bohot izzat karti hun (I greatly respect you). Ishwar aap ko humesha khush rakhe, deerghaayu kare aur sehetmand rakhe yehi meri mangal kaamana (May god always keep you happy, give you long life and keep you healthy),” she tweeted.


Amitabh thanked Lata Mangeshkar for the warm wishes.


“Lata ji ...mere paas shabd nahin hain ki kis tarah aapko dhanyavaad doon (I don’t have words to thank you)...,” he tweeted.
