Tax-GDP ratio has come down: RBI dy governor

He said that though Indians were developing software and managing back office processes of tax authorities of other countries, the same processes were not being implemented in India.
“We are becoming suppliers of software and back offices to the world. But in implementing here, we are very slow,” said Mohan.

Inaugurating the multi-banking scheme for the Central Excise Commissionerate in Mumbai, the deputy governor said, “We have to move to a system where we make the process less hateful.
We should make it easier for citizens to pay their taxes. Apart from the pain of paying taxes, the process of paying had become painful, he said.
