Islamabad, June 12: Saudi Arabia supports resumption of talks between Pakistan and India to resolve Kashmir issue, Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf said today after visiting the kingdom.
Islamabad, June 12: Saudi Arabia supports resumption of talks between Pakistan and India to resolve Kashmir issue, Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf said today after visiting the kingdom.
Musharraf met with Crown Prince Abdullah and other officials during his one-day trip to Saudi Arabia.
Upon his return, Musharraf underlined in a statement "the need for early resolution of the issue of Kashmir through negotiations" with India, according to Pakistan's state-run news agency.
In April, Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee offered talks with Pakistan. Pakistan responded positively to the peace overture, and the neighbours agreed to restore diplomatic and communication links.
