Kolkata, July 07: Union Minister of State for Home, Swami Chinmayanand, today said the government would leave no stone unturned in solving the Kashmir problem.
''The NDA government has taken the Kashmir problem as a challenge. As minister of state for home, I can assure that we will leave no stone unturned in solving the problem,'' he said at a felicitation given by the National Thinkers' Forum.
While terrorism, especially from across the border, was among the major challenges before the Centre, it was particularly concerned over the growth of the naxalite outfits in various parts of the country, the minister said. ''In Bihar, the situation is bad. The cancer has spread to Jharkhand, while seven districts of Chattisgarh are also affected. The naxalites are also present in Andhra Pradesh,'' Chinmayanand said. He said some political parties were opposing Pota and refusing to enact anti-terrorism laws in the state as a result "some state governments do not have adequate legal teeth to deal with these anti-nationals".
