Chandigarh, Oct 10: Alleging that state probe agencies were not doing justice to him, former Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal today demanded setting up of an "independent agency under the Supreme Court" to probe cases of alleged corruption against highly placed politicians.
Badal told reporters here that since the state agencies, like the Punjab Vigilance Bureau which is probing alleged corruption case against him and his family members, cannot give justice as probe is at the dictates of those in power, these should be some independent agency in each state.

Answering a question on CBI investigations, Badal told reporters here that "I have full faith, but Chief Minister Amarinder Singh will not accept its impartiality alleging that it (CBI) is under a government which is an ally of the Shiromani Akali Dal".

The agency could be a commission of inquiry headed by an apex court judge or a post created or appointed by the Supreme Court Chief Justice or even a Lok Pal appointed in consultation with Chief Justice, Badal said.
