BHEL bags hydro equipment order for Larji project
Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has bagged an order for supply of generating equipment for Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board`s (HPSEB) 3x42 MW Larji Hydro Electric Project (Hep) in Himachal Pradesh.
Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has bagged an order for supply of generating equipment for Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board's (HPSEB) 3x42 MW Larji Hydro Electric Project (Hep) in Himachal Pradesh.
Located 25 km from Bhunter near Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, the underground power house will utilise the waters of river Beas on commissioning. The project is slated for completion in a schedule of 42 months, a company statement said in New Delhi.
BHEL's scope of work in the contract envisages design, manufacture, supply and installation of three numbers of Francis Turbines to operate at a head of 56 metres and matching generators with auxiliaries, digital excitation system, microprocessor based controls and monitoring system, data acquisition system, gas insulated switchgear, transformers and busduct.
The hydro turbines and generators would be manfuctured at BHEL's hardware plant while the controls would be supplied by the company's electronics division, Bangalore.
