There has been a steady rise in the destinations for
electronics and computer software and services exports from
India and there is hardly any country where India is not
exporting these products, computer software export promotion
council ESC said today.
Out of 181 countries, nine account for the bulk of India's electronics hardware and software services exports in 2002-03 at Rs 45,991 crore of the total exports of Rs 52,100 crore.
US accounted for 58 per cent of the total exports followed by UK at 13 per cent, Germany at four per cent, and Singapore and Japan at three per cent each, it said.
Netherlands accounted for two per cent while Belgium, Canada, Australia and China accounted for less than one per cent.
These nine countries account for 88 per cent of the total electronics and computer software exports while the rest 172 have accounted only for 12 per cent.
Middle East, Latin America and Africa, though at present account for a miniscule of the total exports, they have a great potential to emerge as future markets, ESC said.
