Mumbai, Sept 19: After Pakistan and Dubai, city police now believe that neighbouring Bangladesh is also being "used" as a springboard to train militants. "We have reasons to believe that Bangladesh is being used for training militants," a senior police official said here today.
"The training goes on in large-scale camps akin to that being run in another neighbouring country (Pakistan)," he said, adding, "Bangladesh is also being used as a transit route for Pakistan." However, the official denied that Nasir, a prime accused in August 25 twin blast and who was killed in an encounter recently, had received training in Bangladesh. The use of insurgents in North-East to help the militants a safe passage also appeared to be a remote possibility, he added. Bureau Report
