CB-CID probe ordered into Bansi encounter
Lucknow, Sept 16: Uttar Pradesh government has ordered a CB-CID probe into the June 30 Bansi incident in which police claimed to have killed seven gangsters involved in killing of as many people, state assembly was informed today.

Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav made the announcement
in this regard while replying to a calling attention motion
moved by Samjawadi Party member Kamal Yousuf.
Yousuf alleged that the victims in the police encounter
at Bansi in Sidharthnagar district were innocent and demanded
punishment to the guilty policemen.
The district police had gunned down seven alleged
gangsters in an encounter claiming that they had killed seven
people in the district on June 30.
The then opposition had alleged that it was a "fake" encounter.
