Raipur, Jan 18: Chhattisgarh administration has clamped prohibitory order and banned all meetings and picketings at important places in the state capital until further order to maintain law and order. Raipur collector and district magistrate Amitabh Jain yesterday clamped the prohibitory order (section 144 of IPC) with immediate effect in and around the Raj Bhavan, chief minister's residence and the state secretariat, official sources said here today.
However, the sources refused to divulge the reasons for clamping the order.
All kinds of processions, picketing, meetings or public demonstrations are banned in and around the marked areas to maintain law and order and peace, they said.
The order will be in force till further notice, they added.
