New Delhi, Apr 23: Pakistan-based terrorist organisations have recently recruited a large number of persons for carrying out attacks in India, including Jammu and Kashmir, the government told the Lok Sabha today. Overwhelming majority of the terrorists infiltrated from across the borders as well as the Line of Control (LoC) are Pakistani nationals which clearly shows Pakistan remains the epicentre of terrorism in the world, Minister of State for External Affairs Digvijay Singh said in a written reply. Pakistani state and its agencies continue to use terrorism as an instrument of policy and sponsor the breeding and indoctrination of armed irregulars for carrying out subversive and terrorist activities elsewhere, including in neighbouring countries, the minister said. Terror groups including Lashker-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammad and Harkat-ul Mujahideen have been proscribed by the Pakistani government but continue to function under new names, he said. Bureau Report
