Mysore, Mar 29: Efforts of the special task force to conduct an identification parade of the accused in the slain former minister and JD(U) leader H Nagappa kidnap case proved abortive today. According to STF sources, it had issued circulars to the witnesses to be present at the Mysore jail at 10 am today to identify the accused.

However, since the Kollegal court which hears certain cases relating to the crimes of the alleged accomplices of outlaw Veerappan, had not given clearance for the parade by them, some witnesses who had turned up returned disappointed.

The members of Nagappa family, who were earlier informed about the non-clearance by the court, kept themselves away.
Nagappa who was kidnapped from his farm house by the Veerappan gang was found shot dead in the custody of the bandit. Who killed him still remains a mystery.
