Chennai, July 19: The PMK today demanded immediate reinstatement of the 1.70 lakh dismissed state government employees saying the government's decision to hold 'personal enquiries' would only prolong their suffering.
The state government should also come forward to withdraw the controversial ordinance which sought to amend the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA), a party press release said here today.
The decision to serve individual notices to dismissed employees had 'disappointed' them, the release said.
“The reinstatement decision now lies in the hands of appointing authorities who might act with prejudice,” the PMK said and urged the government to order revocation of the dismissals in one go.
