Ujjain, Jan 12: Union coal and mines minister Uma Bharti today flagged-off the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha' ‘Parivartan Yatra’ by appealing to the Election Commission to desist Madhya Pradesh chief minister Digvijay Singh from raising false alarms about communal tension in the state.
“The Chief Minister was unnecessarily raising the bogey
of communal violence at a time when perfect peace prevailed in
the state,” she said at a rally after flagging-off the yatra
led by state BJYM president, Kamal Patel MLA.
Referring to the controversy over land adjacent to the Mahakal temple, which is presently held by RSS, the minister said since 1930 the local administration had been allowed by the RSS to use the land during Simhastha.
The effort now to politicise issue was "maliciously motivated," she said.
Bharti lambasted congress for its policy of appeasement of minorities and said that Singh had failed to provide basic amenities like road and electricity although atrocities on women were increasing.
The yatra that will wind across 142 towns and cities in the state is slated to end at Bhopal on February four with Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani and Union minister Sushma Swaraj expected to address a rally. Bureau Report
