J&K Assembly delegation meets Sonia
New Delhi, July 27: Congress president Sonia Gandhi expressed satisfaction over the functioning of the Mufti Mohammad Sayeed-led coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir.
New Delhi, July 27: Congress president Sonia Gandhi expressed satisfaction over the functioning of the Mufti Mohammad Sayeed-led coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir.
She assured the 20-member all-party delegation from Jammu and Kashmir Assembly for early fulfillment of commitment made at the conclave of Congress Chief Ministers held recently in Srinagar.
The delegation led by the speaker Tara Chand, called on the Congress president and discussed with her the prevailing situation in the state.
In the half-an-hour long meeting, the delegation, comprising five ministers and 15 legislators, apprised Gandhi about the functioning of the coalition government and urged her to make an early visit to J&K and Ladakh as promised by her during her last visit to Valley. The ministers and legislators requested her for follow-up action on the decision taken at the conclave to help promoting tourism and special reservation for the students of the state in technical institutes.
