Phagwara, July 11: A group of Shiv Sena activists today burnt a Pakistani flag and staged a demonstration at Gol Chowk on G T Road here to protest the resumption of bus service between India and Pakistan.
Police rounded up fourteen Shiv Sainiks, including Gurdip Saini, Sena president of Phagwara (rural) unit, for burning the Pakistani flag and holding protest demonstration, sources said.
In contrast, SAD (A) activists sporting buntings and banners at the same Gol Chowk welcomed the Indo-Pakistan 'Sada-e-Sarhad' bus service which resumed after a hiatus of eighteen months.
Meanwhile, the two buses of the two neighbouring nations crossed Phagwara around 1.15 pm peacefully.
