Jerusalem, May 29: Israel will never let go of Jerusalem, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon today said, just hours ahead of a meeting here with his Palestinian counterpart Mahmud Abbas. "We will never let go of Jerusalem! Never!" warned Sharon in a televised speech marking Jerusalem Day, which commemorates what the Jewish state terms the "reunification" of the city following the 1967 Middle East war. It marks the anniversary, according to the Hebrew calendar, of Arab East Jerusalem's seizure from Jordanian control during the Arab-Israeli war on June 7, 1967.
