Police in dark over killing of Dalit family in UP
Lucknow, May 30: Police is still groping in dark over the murder case in which five members of a Dalit family were killed in a village of the newly carved out Chatrapati Shahuji Maharaj nagar (Amethi) Wednesday night, police said today.

No one has been arrested so far, police has launched a manhunt to arrest the culprits, DIG, A K D Dwivedi said here.
Five members of a family, including three children, were axed to death by unidentified assailants in Bhatpurwa village in the earstwhile Rae Bareli district when they were asleep.
The DIG said the head of the family Raja Ram, who runs a tea shop, had escaped the mayhem as he was out of village when this incident took place.
Though an FIR has been lodged, nobody has been named for the crime, Dwivedi said.
Police has detained seven persons but no formal arrest has been made so far, he said.
The village, where this incident took place, falls in sensitive Amethi constituency represented in Lok Sabha by Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
