The District's Chief Medical Health Officer, B B Patra, said that Ruma Chakraborty, who was admitted to the hospital at 10 pm, suffered prolonged convulsion which led to her death. However, some hospital staff and local people alleged the doctor did not attend her when she was undergoing convulsions This morning the CMOH was gheraoed by youth congress activists demanding an inquiry into the woman's death, the police said. The CMOH told media today that a committee of three doctors had been formed to conduct a preliminary inquiry into Ruma's death after child birth.
