Jaipur, June 25: Ace musician Ram Lal Mathur died in Alwar of tuberculosis of bone. He was 78. Honoured by Rajasthan Sangeet Natak Academy with its highest award last year Mathur breathed his last in a private hospital in Alwar where he was undergoing treatment. He is survived by his wife, four sons and a daughter. Mathur learnt music from noted maestro Ali Akbar Khan and assisted him in film score of Navketan's Aandhiyan" in 50s. Mathur served as music and dance director of Jawahar Kala Kendra here for more than a decade.
His Rajasthani album "Ghumar," released a few years ago had proved a instant hit. Bureau Report
